The Consular Fellows Program enables US citizens to use their language proficiency in Mandarin, Spanish, Arabic, or Portuguese working in US embassies and consulates abroad. It is a limited time, non-career appointment of up to five years which directly supports the US State Department Bureau of Consular Affairs’ mission to provide overseas consular services that protect US citizens, ensure US national security, facilitate the entry of legitimate travelers, and foster economic growth at home.
