Fellows can use the grant for any number of activities. Examples of things fellows have used their grant awards for in the past include completing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree; attending conferences and conventions; studying effective change strategies; improving their ability to build and sustain coalitions; participating in leadership development programs and mentoring; and developing specific skills such as conflict and change management, facilitation, and public speaking. The fellowship can be used to cover a wide variety of costs, including living expenses, tuition, conference registration, equipment, travel, and child care.
