Applicants should be self-starters, human rights defenders, impact-minded, and not afraid to go against the grain. Most importantly, JLYL seeks students who come from backgrounds most often targeted by systemic issues that have not afforded them the opportunities and resources needed to become human rights advocates. Applicants must be undergraduates enrolled in a 2 or 4 year accredited program in a university located in the US who are graduating on or after May 2025. Among other benefits, JLYL receive a $2,000 professional stipend.
